VEGETABLES

People always think that nutritious diet involves the use of expensive food articles or books. At the same time, they forgot that nature also provides us with great food information that can be obtained at low cost. Mostly, people are influenced and carried away by the status value attached to a food. For example, people always think that green vegetables are poor man's food and it is not prestigious to take them. Green vegetables are inexpensive but it has a higher nutritive value.

What does vegetables provide? In all vegetables, they have little energy and more of vitamins and minerals than any other food. Green leaf vegetables has an amount of iron, calcium, vitamins A and C. All of these help to prevent our body from getting any disease and disorder. The red and yellow vegetables such as pumpkin and tomatoes are rich in vitamin A. Vegetables such as bitter gourds and brinjal are rich of vitamin B.

Vegetables can also be very useful when it comes to weight reducing. They provide bulk and feeling of satiety but it provide less calories. It also helps to cure constipation.  There is some false information saying that vegetables cause diarrhoea especially in small children. This is a wrong information. Vegetables, especially the leaf has large amount of dirts which if not cleaned, it can cause diarrhoea.

So, we should consume  vegetables daily in some form or other. For example, vegetable can be cooked as salad. Vegetables has curative powers too as it has been proved many times including cancer.
