This vegetable is commonly used in the south Indian food preparation. The sambhar has its special flavour due to the special flavour of this vegetable. Drumstick has certain amount of vitamin C, phosphorus, iron and calcium. It also contains facilitator such as folic acid where it helps to absorb iron and beta-carotene which helps the synthesis of vitamin A.
Medicine :
- Drumstick bark can be made into fine paste and it can promote hair growth if applied daily on the bald patches.
- For blackheads and pimples, equal quantity of the fresh leaves of the drumstick plan and limejuice, can help in getting rid of them if applied regularly.
- Equal quantities of carrot and drumstick can be made into soup, boiled together and it can help to lower the blood pressure.
- Taking drumstick regularly can help to prevent chronic fatigue and joint pains.
