Bitter gourd is a very unique and nutritious vegetable. It contains more nutrients as the size gets smaller. It is rich with vitamin C and contains most of the B complex vitamins and vitamin A which is in the form of carotene. Bitter gourd also has iron, potassium, phosphorus and calcium.
Medicine :
- For stomach disorders, bitter principle of this vegetable can be found in all over it it is os considered wormicidal and generally good.
- To prevent against chicken pox and measles in the autumn and springs season, boiled bitter guard can be eaten.
- Bitter guard extract is beneficial for spleen and liver disorders.
- For people who have diabetes, bitter guard juice and amla juice is mixed together and taken every morning can result in reduction in blood glucose levels.
- For lactating mothers, the leaves can increase the milk production.
- Juice can be extracted from bitter guard leaves and mixed with buttermilk can be taken to cure bleeding piles and intestinal worms.
- If the person has skin eruption, boils, and burns, dried and powdered bitter guard leaves can be applied.
