Fenugreek seeds and their leaves are important in Indian cooking. Both of the seed and leave can help to cool down our body, reduce asthmatic problem and reducing mucous in sinus. It can also lower the cholesterol and soothe down persistent coughs. Fenugreek seed can be made as an excellent tea for irritation and intestinal inflammation and also as gargle tea for people who is suffering from sore throats.
Medicine :
- Coconut milk cooked with fenugreek leaves, can be taken one a day for 2 or 3 days by the people who are having tumours and wounds, sores and skin irritations.
- Fenugreek leaves can be boiled and taken 2 times daily for stomach problem and biliousness.
- For swellings and boils at any parts of the body, lukewarm leaf paste can be applied.
- The fresh leaf of fenugreek can be made into a fine paste and applied on the face every night before sleep and should be washed with warm water on the following day. It helps to get rid of blackheads, pimples and wrinkles.
- For sore throat and mouth ulcers, an infusion of leaves can be gargled 5 to 6 times daily for few days.
- Fenugreek fresh leaf can be made into paste and applied on the scalp before taking bath. It helps to reduce coarseness of hair, dullness and falling hair.
- Honey can be mixed with boiled leaves and taken 2 times per day can cure duodenel ulcers and constipation.
- For insomnia and headache, 1 teaspoon of honey is mixed together with 2 teaspoon of fresh juice of fenugreek leaves which must be taken daily.
